Workers’ compensation law establishes a set of circumstances where employers owe workers special compensation as outlined by California law. This compensation is paid when an injury or death occurs while on the job and includes medical treatment, disability payments, supplemental benefits, and death benefits.  Disputes over workers’ compensation erupt in many circumstances including when an employer is not properly insured, when an employee does not receive adequate financial benefits, and when it is not immediately clear if the injury or death actually occurred at or during the course of work.
